Remake of the Best Picture Oscar-winning 1949 original, directed by Steven Zallian. Sean Penn stars are Willie Stark, an iconoclastic Southern politician. The newer movie is more faithful to Robert Penn Warren's novel, following the dramatic rise and fall of the brusque, self-made Stark who was inspired by the legendary real-life Louisiana governor Huey Long.
