WOLF CREEK: Mick Taylor is an outback Force - a loner, a larrikin and an expert hunter. For years he hunted wild boars for a living but not he has switched to a different beast - tourists being his specialty. Mick greets his prey with a wry smile and a laid back charm, lures them back to his remote campsite ...and shuttered from the prying eyes of the world, carries out acts of unspeakable horror. Mick Taylor kills for fun, but never quickly.
ROMBER STOMPER: More than a decade later Romper Stomper is still considered one of the most daring and confrontational film ever made and is remembered as the film that rocketed Russell Crowe into the international spotlight. As Hando, the leader of a gang of neo-Nazi skinheads Crowe is a powerful, menacing and intimidating white supremacist. Driven by deep-seated hatred, they initiate a street war against members of the local Vietnamese community with relentless ferocity and devastating consequences. Also starring the late Daniel Pollock and Jacqueline McKenzie ("Deep Blue Sea") Geoffrey Wright's bold and brilliant film remains a powerful and relevant Australian classic.
PROOF: Blind from birth, Martin (Hugo Weaving) trusts no-one except the camera that has replaced his eyes. Martin has never known anyone he trusts enough to describe his photos to him until he meets Andy (Russell Crowe) whose honestly and kindness touch him. But Martin's jealous housekeeper (Genevieve Picot), using seduction as a weapon, sets out to destroy their trusting relationship with a cold act of revenge.
MAD MAX: In the ravaged near future, a savage motorcycle gang rules the road. Terrorising innocent civilians while tearing up the streets, the ruthless gang laughs in the face of the police force bent on stopping them. But they underestimate one officer: Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson). And when the bikers brutalise Max's best friend and family, they send him into a mad frenzy that leaves him with only one thing left in the world to live for - revenge!
JINDABYNE: Stewart Kane, an Irishman living in the Australian town of Jindabyne, is on a fishing trip in isolated hill country with three other men when they discover the body of a murdered girl in the river. Rather than return to the town immediately, they continue fishing and report their gruesome find days later. Stewart's wife Claire is the last to find out. Deeply disturbed by her husband's actions, her faith in her relationship with Stewart is shaken to the core. Stewart is not convinced that he has done anything wrong. Claire wants to understand and tries to make things right. In her determination to help the victim's family she sets herself not only against her own family and friends but also those of the dead girl. Her marriage is taken to the brink and her peaceful life with Stewart and their young son hangs in the balance.
DEAD CALM: Take an ocean voyage of full-masted fright with Dead Calm, "a spare, smart, seductive piece of moviemaking with enough tension to keep us all hyperventilating for hours" (Sheila Brown, Los Angeles Times). Thriller specialist Philip Noyce (Patriot Games, The Saint) directs three splendid actors - Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Nicole Kidman (Eyes Wide Shut) and Billy Zane (Titanic) - in riveting performances. Joe and Rae Ingram (Neill and Kidman) do the right thing and rescue the half-delirious sole survivor (Zane) of a crippled schooner. But soon the stranger will plunge the unwary pair into an intense battle of cat and mouse. And life or death.
CROCODILE DUNDEE: He's survived the most hostile and primitive land known to man. Now all he's got to do is make it through a week in New York. Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee is a free-spirited Australian who hunts crocodiles with his bare hands, stares down giant water buffaloes and drinks mere mortals under the table. But he's about to face the ultimate torture test - a trip to New York City. Beautiful and tenacious reporter Sue Charlton gets more than just a story as the "wonder from Down Under" rocks the Big Apple to its core.
CRACKERJACK: Larrikin Aussie comedian Mick Molloy (TV's The Late Show) is Jack Simpson - office worker, drifter and total scammer. When he joins the local bowling club just to score free inner-city parking, little does he know he may become the key to the future of the club! With the Cityside Club in financial straits and shady developer Bernie Fowler (John Clarke, TV's The Games) breathing down its neck, the club is forced to enter a cash prize tournament. But with aging and ailing members, the team numbers are down. When they discover the enigmatic Jack is on their books, they threaten to withdraw his membership and his car-park, if he doesn't play! With the battle lines drawn for a do or die match, the club's very existence now rests in Jack's hands.
ALVIN PURPLE: A naive young man finds that no matter how hard he resists them: beautiful women can't keep their hands off him. What lies ahead is a sexual odyssey of monumental proportions and outlandish hilarity.
PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT: On Monday, 13 September 1993 the cast of "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert" faced the cameras for the very first time. Eight months later the completed movie was feted with the audience award as the Most Popular Film at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and at the San Francisco and Seattle Festivals. Audiences screamed her praises when "Priscilla" opened across Australia in September 1994. And at the next year's Academy Award presentation Lizzy Gardiner and Tim Chappel won the Oscar for Best Costume Design. Now get ready, once again, to go bush with Bernadette (Terence Stamp), Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) and Felicia (Guy Pearce) aboard the lavender bus called 'Priscilla' as they head for Alice Springs with a drag show, with hits by Abba, Charlene, Alicia Bridges, Gloria Gaynor and The Village People. It's a cabaret unlike anything the locals have ever seen before.
