In 1992 Glenn Singleman and Nic Feteris set the world record for Altitude BASEjumping with their leap from the 6258 metre high Great Trango Tower in Pakistan. Nic is a BASEjumper, Glenn is a climber, but both are novices at the other's sport. This is a spectacular firsthand view of the preparation, dedication and sheer courage it took to do it. After conquering The Great Trango Tower Glenn Singleman firmly believed that it was possible for anybody who could "jump off a chair and pull a handkerchief out of their pocket" to make the 'big jump' if they could overcome their fears. When he heard of a taller mountain, Ama Dablam, at 6828 metres high, someone challenged his belief.
His wife, Heather Swan, an active mother and businesswoman, had never parachuted, BASEjumped or climbed any mountain. To fulfil her dream she had to acquire skills way outside her comfort zone and overcome paralysing fear.
