David Jason stars as unconventional policeman Detective Inspector Jack Frost, whose arrogance and indifference to orthodox police procedures masks a keen sense of observation and a dedication to solving crime. Based on the books by R.D. Wingfield, each feature length episode shows Frost unravelling complex cases with his special touch of sharp instinct, dogged determination and compassion. A Minority of One - Carl Tanner, a new West Indian Detective Constable is assigned to help Frost when he is faced with the death of a police informer on a racially-tense estate. Widows and Orphans - Frost leads an investigation into a series of break-ins at homes of elderly people. The investigation becomes critical when the latest crime leaves an old lady severely beaten-up and in Intensive Care. Nothing to Hide - Frost gains a new partner and together they investigate an MP's son who is involved in a hit-and-run accident and a robbery at a private casino, both of which occur on the same night. Stranger in the House - A rapist who carries out his sordid crimes in his victims' homes is the urgent subject of Frost's enquiries. But when Frost involves WPC Wallace he inadvertently puts her in danger.
